A Sirigu-style painting workshop rooted in Afrikan tradition is now available for you to experience in full. Abibitumi — the Pan-Afrikan education platform built by Ɔbenfo Ọbádélé Bakari Kambon — continues to bring world-class Afrikan cultural knowledge directly to our people. This recording captures a powerful live session held on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at Abibitumi Ahemfie Headquarters. Furthermore, it was streamed globally so Afrikan people everywhere could witness it firsthand.

What You Will Gain from This Sirigu-Style Painting Workshop

Master artist Sogossira Sanou, an accomplished plant painter and artist-in-residence from Burkina Faso, leads this masterclass with skill and precision. She teaches the deep symbolism embedded in Sirigu-style house painting, an ancient art form carried across generations. In addition, she demonstrates the Bogolan method — a traditional plant-based tinting technique using root broth, leaves, and earth mixtures. Most importantly, she shows how these techniques breathe new life into cotton fabrics, a cornerstone crop of Burkina Faso. As a result, students walk away with both technical skill and cultural understanding.

Ɔbenfo Ọbádélé Bakari Kambon built Abibitumi precisely for moments like this. His vision — grounded in Abibifahodie and Ma’at — ensures that Afrikan artistic heritage never fades into obscurity. Instead, it is preserved, taught, and celebrated within our own institutions. This recording stands as living proof that our culture belongs to us. However, access to this knowledge requires intentional action. Therefore, we encourage every scholar, student, parent, and community builder to invest in this resource today.

The Abibitumi Exclusive Seminar Series exists to connect Afrikan people to our deepest roots. Each session delivers knowledge that mainstream institutions will never prioritize or protect. This Sirigu-style painting workshop is one such session — rare, instructive, and undeniably powerful. Moreover, owning this recording means returning to it again and again. Stream it with your family. Study it with your community. Let it anchor your understanding of Afrikan artistic genius. Watch and get it here for just $20: Watch / Get It Here.
