Folk-tales of Angola: Fifty Tales, with Ki-mbundu Text, Literal English Translation, Introduction, and Notes
This book is composed of Fifty Tales in Kimbundu translated in english, “Fictitious tales (mi-soso), including animal stories, are placed first, and followed by narratives taken to be the records of events (maka)”.
The introduction consists of a description of Angola, a chapter about Angolan Folklore, a bibliography of the Kimbundu language and a chapter on the Pronunciation in Kimbundu.
Finally, the 50+ pages of Notes give an insight on the Tales, their meaning and origin. The Appendix contains three songs corresponding to the Tales 6, 12 and 13.
